Air Compressor Pumps Types

In most of air compressor, you will find that pumps are one of the most important parts for air compressor to work properly. Air compressor pumps are needed to move air from outside to inside trough compressor. Pumps can work on both gas and liquid, but compressor only can work with gasses.

There are generally two types of air compressor pumps: rotary pumps and reciprocal compressors pump. Both are working in the opposite pattern. Rotary pumps create a low vacuum pressure air; on the other hand, reciprocal pump creates high pressure air

If you know how turbines work, then you will understand that rotary pumps are working the opposite way of turbines. Rotary pumps uses energy that being supplied by electric motor from one place to another.

Reciprocal pump are working with piston that moves back and forth in the cylinder. This movement suck in air from outside an press it into inside. Piston or valves are needed to make sure air that goes inside doesn’t go back in the direction where it enters.

How Air Compressor Pumps Works?

There are two ways on air can be compressed in air compressor. The first method is using centrifugal force. The air is exposed to high centrifugal force. By having this cause, air molecules are attracted to the center axis of rotation, allowing the construction of high air density around the area. In this way, air is compressed.

The second way is with the help of piston to push air to tight cylinders inside air compressor. This method will accumulate the air and compress it. Thus, air compressor pumps is playing very significant roles intoday’s activitieis.
